How to Style Curly Hair in 6 Steps

"Are your curls natural?" It's even funnier after I say yes. They will roll their eyes at me like I'm lying!. Honestly, I don't care anymore because curls are all I know and I feel like an expert when it comes to talking about them. I take a lot of pride in keeping my hair pristine and soft to the touch. My other curly haired girls know EXACTLY what I am talking about.

I Was Sent Home in Labor Pt. 2

We arrived home, my mom was watching Ella (who thankfully had just gone down for her nap) I really didn’t want her to see me in so much pain. My contractions were steadily getting worse and worse. However, I had to push through to make it to 7pm. That’s when the new on call doctor would be in at the hospital and I could get a second opinion.

I Was Sent Home in Labor Pt.1

Now before we begin — please know Wesley and I are both doing extremely well and everyone is healthy and safe. I truly believe God led our path to getting here and everything I’m about to tell you all is more about awareness and signs to look for when you are not feeling heard or possibly dismissed by a doctor. This experience has taught me a lot about how the hospitals work and it’s definitely put a whole new outlook on how I will choose to give birth again (if that’s what Chip & I decide) and it will most likely not be with my current OBGYN practice.

Testing Positive for COVID while 28 Weeks Pregnant Pt. 2

Part 2 of my experience of having COVID while pregnant. Like I said before -- please know this is 100% what we went through. Everything I’ve read and researched said something different when I was searching for answers. This virus has been very different for everyone and my thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones or who are struggling now. Again, it is such a weird virus!

Testing Positive for COVID while 28 Weeks Pregnant Pt. 1

Yes, you read that correctly. I was one of the millions to have the bad luck of getting COVID back in October 2020. Even worse, when I was 28 weeks pregnant…. Now before I go on to talk about our experience -- please know this is 100% what we went through. Everything I’ve read and researched said something different when I was searching for answers. This virus has been very different for everyone and my thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones or who are struggling now.

Richmond's BEST Coffee Shops!

This mama runs on coffee and when I say runs on coffee -- I mean well...you all know the famous Lorelai Gilmore quote?. “I need coffee, whatever form you got, I haven’t had it all day. I’ll drink it, shoot it, eat it, snort it, whatever form it’s in.” - Lorelai Gilmore/Gilmore Girls.

New Year, Not So New Me?

It’s that time of year again! Time to make up your resolutions -- I always see the titles “New Year, New Me” but as I read others lists to get ideas of what I personally wanted to work towards the more I thought, “I like where I am -- why do I need to be a new me?” So I decided on “New Year, Not So New Me” to describe 2021 sounded much better.
