Creighton soccer's Skylar Heinrich transfers to TCU

Former Elkhorn standout Skylar Heinrich, the 2019 Big East freshman of the year, announced on Instagram Thursday she's transferring from Creighton to TCU. Heinrich started 27 of 28 matches during her CU career, scoring 13 goals in two years with the Jays. The speedy forward led her team in shot attempts (24) this past season when Creighton reached the Big East tournament for the first time since joining the league.

Legion ball returns to TCU area

After an absence of several years, bats are cracking for Legion ball. The Tri-Cities Legion ball team kicked off its season Monday, June 7 in Le Center against Waterville-Elysian- Morristown. The team started its season with an 11-1 win over Waterville-Elysian-Morristown. The Titans scored two runs in the second inning, three runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the sixth.

TCU names Kirk Saarloos as Head Coach

FORT WORTH — TCU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jeremiah Donati has announced the promotion of Kirk Saarloos to be the Horned Frogs’ new head baseball coach. Saarloos, the 20th head coach in program history,has been at TCU throughout its nine seasons in the Big 12. During that time, the Horned Frogs have totaled six conference regular season and tournament championships, double the total of the next-closest schools, as well as four College World Series appearances. Hired initially as pitching coach in Summer 2012, he was promoted to recruiting coordinator the following year.
