Texarkana Texas Police report that a recent arrest of a felony fugitive has garnered the suspect a total of 11 charges, and faces other charges in other states. We arrested 27 year old Anthony Sandoval on Wednesday for five felony warrants and several new charges after a short foot chase through the parking lot of a shopping center in the 4800 block of N. Stateline Ave.

Texarkana police arrested Anthony Sandoval, 27, for five felony warrants after a brief foot chase. An Arkansas-side investigator initially observed Sandoval getting into a vehicle at a local motel and recognized him. He followed Sandoval's vehicle as it traveled south down Stateline Ave. Texas-side authorities were called to make the traffic stop.

TEXARKANA, Ark. - The Texarkana Regional Airport is moving forward on the purchase of 8-acres of land that could attract more business to the area. Both cities have approved a resolution authorizing the airport authority to purchase the land, which is just south of the new terminal building. The 8-acres of undeveloped land is located between the airport's property and some land owned by the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.

A couple of sleuths think they’ve cracked the case of falling fish in Texarkana. Last December, hundreds of fish fell on roads, roofs, and even the runway in Texarkana during a storm. Pennsylvania independent natural phenomenon researcher Sharon Hill and Australian author Paul Cropper think Cormorants dumped them from the mouths and stomachs. Many locals said the large to medium size fowl are common in the area. She says these sensitive birds tend to lose their lunch when they get upset. Some fish was as long as six inches, and the University of Texas lab for biodiversity hopes to test the mess for bird DNA samples.

Texas Chuck Wagon held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today in Nash to celebrate the business’ induction into the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce. As customers filled the restaurant’s main room, spokespeople from Texarkana’s big businesses met in the banquet room. Representatives for places like Texarkana College, Farmers Bank and Trust, and Christus St. Michael were in attendance. Chuck Wagon’s owner, Steve Morse, gave a quick speech. He discussed the future of the business and thanked everyone for attending. A representative for the Chamber of Commerce spoke and thanked Chuck Wagon for bringing in profits for the city. Everyone then gathered outside for the ceremony. The crowd cheered on Morse as he cut the symbolic red ribbon.
