MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Marcis Floyd is one of the leading contenders to take over the cat safety position Sean Mahone handled last year. Interestingly enough, he was brought here from Murray State to play cornerback, similar to what Charles Woods did last year in transferring from Illinois State before last season.

From Ghana to West Virginia, Kpogba is ready to roll

Lee Kpogba will be the centerpiece of WVU’s defense this fall, and he has had quite the road to get to that point. His story in football is somewhat commonplace in this era of college athletics — start with a Division I program, move on, to another program and land at another home. Kpogba’s story before football, however, is much more unique.

Countdown No. 22: Third Down Offense

No. 22 - Third Down Offense. In Neal Brown's first year at West Virginia, the Mountaineers were absolutely dreadful in third down offense. The team finished dead last (by a significant margin) in the Big 12 Conference in that category, and ranked 104th out of 130 teams nationally. It was maybe the key stat that needed to improve the most for WVU to turn things around moving forward.
