USDA Awards the Town of Taos a Rural Business Development Grant

Town of Taos and Rolling Still partner on an Economic Development Grant. Taos, NM – The Town of Taos is pleased to announce that a USDA Rural Business Development Grant in the amount of $249,988 was awarded for the purchase of large capacity production equipment on behalf of Rolling Still Bros, LLC, a woman-owned manufacturer of hand-crafted spirits. The bottling and canning equipment will increase volume output by tenfold and allow Rolling Still to enter the “ready to drink” market, the fastest growing segment in the beverage market. In addition, Rolling Still projects the creation of 14 new jobs.

New Mexico driver arrested in death of passenger after driving into floodwater

A Guadalupita man has been arrested for driving a pickup truck into floodwaters in Mora, allegedly leading to the death of his passenger, authorities said Tuesday. New Mexico State Police said 30-year-old John Vasquez has been booked into the San Miguel County jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and fleeing an accident with knowledge of death or great bodily harm.

Last year in this season-opening matchup, a historic effort by Ollie Fell kept the Sundevils close through the fourth quarter. The Hilltoppers finished the season 5-6 and snuck into the state playoffs.
