Glenwood Woman Arrested After a Traffic Stop.

(Montgomery County) This morning at 12:34 am Deputies with the Montgomery County sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Highway 34 at the Mills/Montgomery County line. Upon investigation Deputies arrested 22-year-old Dezirae Marie Kuhl of Glenwood for Possession of a controlled substance 1st offense. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where she is being held on 1000 dollars bond.

Plattsmouth man accused of attacking woman

PLATTSMOUTH - A 42-year-old Plattsmouth man is accused of felony strangulation after an incident at a Valley Street residence on Nov. 26. An arrest affidavit says Michael Dwyer attacked a woman after pushing his way through the front door. The woman told police that Dwyer had broken the door previously, so she placed a chair in front of it to try and keep him out.

Council Bluffs Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges

(Council Bluffs) A Council Bluffs man faces charges concerning a stabbing on Thursday afternoon. Council Bluffs Police responded to a disturbance call between a male and a female in the 600 5th Avenue neighborhood. Officers responding were informed that a female was stabbed in the neck by the male. The female was taken by private vehicle to Jennie Edmundson Hospital, where she sought treatment for a significant stab wound to her upper back near the base of the neck. The female was eventually referred to UNMC due to the severity of the injury; at this time, the injury is said to be non-life threatening. Officers located the male offender close to the area and arrested him.

Colorado man convicted of conspiracy to distribute meth

OMAHA, Neb. -- A Colorado man was convicted on Wednesday for meth related charges and faces a potential sentence of 15 years to life in prison. Acting United States Attorney Steven Russell announced that on Wednesday that a federal jury in Lincoln, convicted 38-year-old Jose O. Maes of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine mixture after a three-day trial presided over by United States District Judge John M. Gerrard.

Scott named new Mills County public health administrator

(Glenwood) -- For the second time this year, Mills County has a new public health administrator. Earlier this week, the county's board of supervisors approved the selection of Kiernan Scott to fill the vacancy left by Lorie Ann Gentry's termination back in September. Gentry had succeeded Julie Lynes, who retired as the county's public health administrator in May. County Public Health Nurse Lorri Greiner has been serving as the county's interim public health administrator. Greiner tells KMA News Scott was selected from four other applicants for the position.
