Bully Ray wants Seth Rollins to beat Big E for the WWE title

WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray wants to see Seth Rollins become the next WWE Champion. Rollins is set to challenge Big E for the gold at the Day 1 pay-per-view on January 1, with Kevin Owens also in the match, and Bully Ray believes Rollins is the best option as champion because of the emotional investment fans have when they want to see a heel champion lose. "Seth [next WWE Champion]. But I'd like to see them heat Seth and Kevin Owens up pretty damn hot and get some steam on Big E so people wanna see Big E fight back. They [Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins] were fighting each other last night!" Bully Ray said on Busted Open Radio. "At least Seth as a heel, you can feed a lot of different people to him who will want to see Seth get defeated. The emotional investment of a heel losing will always trump the investment of a babyface retaining, when it comes to champions, because they always wanna see the bad guy lose." Day 1 will be the first time Seth Rollins has challenged for the WWE Championship since he failed to defeat Drew McIntyre for the title at Money In The Bank 2020.

The main event will be a triple threat match, and it turns out there is a rather specific reason behind the company setting up the match as they did.
