Possible Toronto Maple Leafs Playing in the 2022 Olympics

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be well represented in Beijing. After NHL players missed out on playing at the 2018 winter Olympics, the 2022 games immediately became a topic of discussion. Thankfully, the NHL announced their approval of NHL participation at this upcoming Olympics, barring any last-minute issues. The Toronto Maple Leafs – and the rest of the league – will pause their season for two weeks, but it will be well worth it.

Edmonton Oilers’ Zack Kassian is cleared to return to play but he is the actions that lead to his concussion – fighting. Cole Perfetti's parents only made it to his debut because Jamie Drysdale's dad delayed a plane

The headline speaks for itself, but we’ll provide a little more context nonetheless. Cole Perfetti made his debut with the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday during the team’s 4-1 loss to Anaheim. An NHL debut is special for the player, but it’s equally if not more special for the parents of a player. All the early mornings, the cold arenas, the mileage finally pay off when your child steps onto the ice with an NHL jersey on his back.

Welcome to the Show, Seth Jarvis

Portland, Ore. – Portland Winterhawks star forward Seth Jarvis has officially cracked the Carolina Hurricanes’ opening night roster. Jarvis, 19, is one of just 11 teenagers on an NHL team roster and he will have the opportunity to play full time in Raleigh, N.C. this season. However, this doesn’t eliminate the possibility of Jarvis returning to Portland sometime this season, nor does it affect his chances of playing for Hockey Canada at 2022 World Juniors this winter.

Top Rookies to Watch in the 2021–22 NHL Season

Before the pandemic-shortened season, there was little reason to doubt that Wild winger Kirill Kaprizov would thrive in his 24-year-old rookie season. The youngest player to 100 goals in KHL history, Kaprizov dazzled and finished one vote shy of becoming the first unanimous Calder Trophy winner since 1993. Few, if any, prospects enter the NHL with that level of surety.
