MU quidditch team brings the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to campus

Through creativity and fan interest, quidditch is no longer just a fictitious sport from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. College students across the U.S. have created a real-life version of the game that follows the rules of the Harry Potter sport, but without the flying brooms. MU has a...

Gigantic Wand Installation Unveiled in Leicester Square for “Sorcerer’s Stone” 20th Anniversary

There’s always a little bit of extra magic in the air this time of year, mostly because fall is the time when Hogwarts students return to school, and we love to commemorate that special day every year on September 1. A sport from the wizarding world comes to campus

It may come as a surprise, but Brandeis has a Quidditch team. Yes, you heard that right — the sport is no longer reserved for the wizarding world of “Harry Potter.” While lacking in witchcraft and wizardry, the University’s team is very real and a welcoming space for anyone who wishes to join. They play against other universities in the college division of US Quidditch and have previously gone to nationals. Brandeis Quidditch, however, is about more than just playing a sport. It’s about inclusivity, teamwork and — when it comes down to it — having a good time.
