4: To Love the Lord Your God – Singing with Inspiration

Flipping through the new quarterly, there are a number of titles that have the word ‘love’ in them – Love, to Be Loved; To Love God; He First Loved Us; To Love the Lord Your God; to name just a few. Hence, I believe a wonderful hymn to devote to as a theme will be.

Brian Cole: 'Hope In Suffering?' - Part 2

Gen. 40:1-23 - Hope In Suffering? - Part 2. So last week we saw Joseph going through a rough season, he has that sensitivity to others, he recognizes sadness there, and he has in him a real desire to serve and bless others. That is the very thing we will discover that gets him out of the prison he’s in. So let’s pick it up in vs. 8.

You Are Called by God To Joyfully Reflect His Image

You are destined by God to reflect His image. Did you ever go to a clear, still pond? If you ever do, go down and kneel at the edge of it and just lean over and look at your image. It’ll be kind of wavy, but you’ll see it — not perfect, but you’ll know it’s there. That’s exactly what God has in store for you. When others see you, they must see a little ripple of the image of Jesus. Just imagine your destiny!

Do you remember what God has done?

As humans, we are really good at forgetting. Our memories fade over time and are constantly overwritten by new ones. Our minds tend to forget things; the good, the bad, the ugly. Most times, this is a minor inconvenience. But sometimes, it can be deeper than that. When our memories...

The Key To Overcoming Fear Is God’s Word

Fear is a tool that the devil is using to rule the lives of many Christians in the world today. It starts as a small thought and then stirs up strong emotions in us that make us take the wrong step. Fear is the opposite of faith and as children...

Who Will Answer Your Door?

Witchcraft. Sorcery. Psychics. Demons. Spirits. Most people think of those as they do fairy tales. However, I believe they are real because God says they’re real and because I have no doubt Satan is real as do most Bible-believing Christians. We tend to laugh and talk about these things lightly. We watch scary movies, read literature rich in witchcraft and sorcery, and participate in haunted houses. We “sugarcoat” the Devil and “dress up Halloween” for our children, when in fact the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:22, “Avoid every kind of evil.”

One Thing to Change the World

When an ancient sage was asked if he could do just one thing to change the world for the better he said that he would give back to words their true meaning. Unfortunately, I cannot do that, but I would like to give back to just one word its true meaning because our life, our happiness, and our ultimate destiny depend more on this word more than on any other. The word is Love. Life without love is meaningless.

Expressions of faithUnity of spirit – process of change

“Put off concerning the former conversation of the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness,” Ephesians 4:22-32. What is in your life right now...

Who is Jesus?

Some might say Jesus was just a moral man, a popular prophet or a great teacher; but they stop well short of saying that Jesus is God. But to be clear, Jesus didn’t give us the option to say He is anything less than God Himself! That is why the Apostle Paul writes: “The Son is the image of the invisible God.” (Colossians 1:15)

an epic night

It was to become an epic night . . . but we had no idea. This photo captured a private moment as we waited. In the waiting, you feel small, insignificant, weak, fearful. But deeper still, because of His Word, there is resolute confidence. Determination to give God glory and His rightful place in all of this, no matter what.

Christians should seek commonalities of faith

Today’s America is deeply divided, and as long as one side is largely non-Judeo-Christian, total unity will never occur. There is one important step of unity, however, that should have occurred long ago, and should still occur as in important example for America. This step would be achieving essential unity between Catholic and Protestant Christians.
