Officials ID teen, 18, killed in Milford watercraft accident off Cedar Beach

MILFORD — A Shelton teen was identified Thursday by state officials as the individual who died after a personal watercraft collision on Long Island Sound Tuesday. Milford Battalion Fire Chief Christopher Zak confirmed the death on Wednesday, but said officials were not yet releasing the person’s name. Will Healey, a spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, confirmed on Thursday that Matthew Horvath, 18, of Shelton, was the individual who died.
