Walmart's Holiday Prediction: Consumers 'Want a Sense of Normalcy'

Walmart (NYSE:WMT) is expecting an unusual end to its wild fiscal year. It suffered a slight growth slowdown in its fiscal 2021 third quarter, mainly due to the end of much of the federal government's emergency economic stimulus. But the results from the period, which ended Oct. 30, included other welcome surprises for investors, highlighted by rising profit margins both in stores and online.

Update: The restock went live, and all four PS5 and Xbox listings now say the consoles are "temporarily out of stock." It's unclear if this means stock may return later tonight or if they are out of stock indefinitely. The restock began at 9 PM ET, and the listings showed out of stock by 9:02 PM. It's worth keeping an eye on the listings above just in case. If you're still looking to buy the consoles, GameStop will have limited stock in stores this Friday.
