Walmart's Holiday Prediction: Consumers 'Want a Sense of Normalcy'

Walmart (NYSE:WMT) is expecting an unusual end to its wild fiscal year. It suffered a slight growth slowdown in its fiscal 2021 third quarter, mainly due to the end of much of the federal government's emergency economic stimulus. But the results from the period, which ended Oct. 30, included other welcome surprises for investors, highlighted by rising profit margins both in stores and online.

Is Walmart closed on Thanksgiving? Store hours

It has been a trend in recent years for stores to open on Thanksgiving. Coronavirus changed all that this year, however, and more are opting to give employees the day off. Walmart - the nation’s largest retailer – has opted to close on Thanksgiving 2020. Stores will close at 11 p.m. Wednesday night and reopen for Black Friday (Nov. 27) at 5 a.m.

Latest Walmart PS5, Xbox Series X Restock Sells Out In 2 Minutes

Walmart kicked off its Black Friday 2020 sale with a PS5 and Xbox Series X restock that (predictably) sold out immediately. Update: The restock went live, and all four PS5 and Xbox listings now say the consoles are "temporarily out of stock." It's unclear if this means stock may return later tonight or if they are out of stock indefinitely. The restock began at 9 PM ET, and the listings showed out of stock by 9:02 PM. It's worth keeping an eye on the listings above just in case. If you're still looking to buy the consoles, GameStop will have limited stock in stores this Friday.

(CNN) — Walmart’s been celebrating Black Friday differently this year by spreading savings throughout the entire month of November with “Black Friday Deals for Days.” Lots of early deals are already live, with Walmart’s third and final savings event launching online on November 25 at 7 p.m. Even more deals will drop online on November 27 at midnight, and then in-store the following morning at 5 a.m.

What time does Walmart open on Black Friday? Store hours

Walmart departed from its recent tradition and closed on Thanksgiving this year. It will reopen Friday for its Black Friday sales event. Walmart stores will open at 5 a.m. local time on Friday, Nov. 27. Walmart will work to maintain social distancing and are asking customers to form a single straight line to enter the store. Shopping carts will be hand sanitized and “health ambassadors” will be at the entrances to remind people to wear a mask. The number of people allowed in stores will be limited. Customers will be directed to shop down the right-hand side of aisles to select the Black Friday deals.

An Ohio man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly pulling out brass knuckles after refusing to wear a mask while shopping at Walmart. Colyn Tusing, 20, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon inside a Walmart store in the city of Sandusky. An officer with the Perkins Township Police Department responded to a call about a customer who refused to wear a mask inside the store around 5 p.m. Saturday.
