2021 State Softball tournament

HASTINGS, Neb. (KLKN) – After three days of tournament play, three state champions were crowned in Hastings. Lincoln Southwest won the Class A title completing the 16-7 comeback over Lincoln East, and Bishop Neumann shut out Yutan/Mead to claim the Class C state championship title. Omaha Skutt Catholic was crowned the Class B state champion.

KMAland Nebraska (10/15): Pioneers rack up 500+ yards in win over Falls City

(KMAland) -- Nebraska City put up over 500 yards of total offense in a win over Falls City in KMAland Nebraska action on Friday. Bayler Poston rushed for 199 yards and had three touchdowns while Brandon Thompson posted 211 yards receiving for Nebraska City in the win. MJ Nelson added three touchdown passes as the Pioneers racked up 501 total yards.

Wahoo police officer pleads not guilty to child sexual assault charges

A Wahoo police officer arrested in Dodge County pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault of a child Friday. Sean M. Vilmont was initially arrested Sept. 24 after turning himself in on two counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child and one count of unlawful intrusion. The Nebraska State Patrol and Attorney General’s Office filed a criminal complaint four days prior.
