Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolls it’s way into Byron

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolls into Byron Saturday afternoon, returning to the rails for it’s 24th annual cross-continent trip. The train travels in support of food banks and shelves in dozens of locations, including Byron, by raising money, meals and awareness on food insecurity issues.

SFNext: Searching for solutions to city's intractable problems

SAN FRANCISCO -- Recently, about 200 San Franciscans gathered to try a bold experiment. The goal: to come up with some fresh ideas that may lead to fixing some deeply rooted San Francisco challenges: homelessness, housing affordability and public safety. The event was the brainchild of the San Francisco Chronicle's special project called SFNext, which aims to find solutions to these historic problems bedeviling the city. Athena Strand: Wise County community comes together to mourn 7-year-old girl

WISE COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) — A rural Wise County community is mourning the loss of 7-year-old Athena Strand. On Wednesday evening, she was first reported missing by her stepmother. The Wise County Sheriff's office said Athena left the house by herself. After two days of searching, her body was found last night, several miles away from her house.The Wise County Sheriff's Office arrested 31-year-old Tanner Horner, a contracted driver for FedEx. Reports: USF set to hire Tennessee OC Alex Golesh

South Florida is set to make Tennessee offensive coordinator Alex Golesh its new head coach, multiple outlets reported Saturday night. Golesh, 38, would replace Jeff Scott, who was fired in November after a 1-8 start. Special teams coordinator Daniel Da Prato finished out the season as interim head coach. The Bulls finished 1-11.
