As a kid, Tim Leonard fell in love with music and vinyl records. In fact, he still has his favorite LPs, bought back when he was in junior high, like the Rolling Stones and the Kinks. “Music has always been a part of my life,” said Leonard, who is 61....

Triple Play Records has been spinning downtown for 33 years

The Grand Valley has relied on Triple Play Records, 530 Main St., as its source for grabbing new and old albums to spin for 33 years. In that time, vinyl records waned in popularity to CDs, which consumers then abandoned for digital streaming. But something clicked for the people, particularly Millennials and now Gen Z, and vinyl has seen a resurgence in popularity.

A great day to get Crazy ...

Easy Street Records & Café- Brekkie and groovin’ to old school music!

This place is the heart and soul of West Seattle. They have an incredible vinyl collection upstairs and downstairs you can find just about any album on CD and cassette for all y'all who like to kick it old school. Easy Street Records and Cafe is located on a street filled with small businesses and great vibes. You walk in and let the music welcome you. You also get greeted by the smells of the cafe. As for the food, it was pretty dang good. I loved my Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was super creamy, egg yolks nice and runny, and hash browns crisped to sheer perfection.Mimosas are top-notch! My sole complaint was that the English muffins were quite soft; they could have used a bit more toasting so they'd hold up to the hollandaise. I highly recommend stopping in here. I would suggest coming either on a week day, or before you hit the market or the shops in the area, just so you can minimize the amount of time you spend waiting around for your name to be called.

Record Store Day sweet music for fans of vinyl

Popular music consumption may be driven by digital streaming and downloads of particular tracks, but for St. Charles’ Bob Evans, 63, there’s nothing like a turntable and having a needle trace some vinyl. “It just sounds better,” Evans said matter-of-factly. “I mean, I think there are a few reasons. It...
