Hoosac Valley Girls Fall at Ware

WARE, Mass. -- Ashlyn Lesure scored the Hoosac Valley girls soccer team’s first goal of the season, but the Hurricanes fell to Ware, 3-1, on Thursday evening. Avery McGrath assisted on Lesure’s goal. Emma Meczywor made 12 saves in the Hurricanes’ goal. Hoosac Valley (0-6) hosts Drury on Friday.

Rancocas Valley girls soccer outlasts Holy Cross Prep in showdown of top scorers

The kick took an unintended curve and all of a sudden the race was on. Rancocas Valley readied itself to turn away a corner kick on Friday with just minutes left in the first half of a tie game. When the ball started drifting out of the box though, senior Rebecca Yemola took advantage, using a big kick to send a pass ahead to junior striker Kennedy Garcia.

Cumberland Valley (4-2) overcame an early deficit to capture a 2-1 comeback victory over Chambersburg Thursday. Ashia Thomas scored a breakaway goal early in the first half to give the Trojans a lead that they would hold through halftime. Cumberland Valley adjusted and came out on a mission after the intermission. Samantha Mann scored the equalizer and the go-ahead goal in the second half. Ella Wineka and Georgia Mantione were each credited with one assist.
