Sounding Off: Printing should be free at UConn

The Undergraduate Student Government of the University of Connecticut rolled out its Husky Print program on Nov. 29, and announced that it will run through finals season, ending on Dec. 19. The program promises to offer 15 pages of free printing to all UConn Storrs students, available at any Wepa printer. Now, my goal here isn’t to knock that program, because while I do think offering the equivalent of $1.20 to all students is lackluster, that’s really not the actual problem here. It should not have to fall on USG to slightly better a necessary service for students who already pay thousands of dollars to the university. That service, the ability to print documents and other paper paraphernalia, should be free to all UConn students, and not just for finals, but throughout the school year.

Student apathy towards USG has real consequences

The following is a guest contribution and reflects the author’s views alone. For information on how to submit an article to the Opinion Section, click here. Hi, my name is Stephen Daniels, and I am currently a U-Councilor. You likely do not know what that means, underscoring the public relations problem of our Undergraduate Student Government’s (USG) Senate. Few students outside of USG can explain what the different groups that make up the body actually do.

Anantnag: USG facility in hospitals serves little purpose as investigation done only once a week

Anantnag: The ultra-sonography facilities at Sub District Hospitals in southern Anantnag district are serving little purpose as the said investigation in these hospitals is done only once a week. The test being done only on particular days is leaving the patients with no option but to move to private diagnostic centers to get the test done.

USG decides not to rename college buildings with racist connections

On June 17, 2020, the University of Georgia Board of Regents Chairman Sachin Sailendra and former Chancellor Steve Wrigley asked an advisory group to analyze the origin of the names of 75 buildings and colleges across all USG campuses. After analyzing these names, USG then required them to report to the Board if they had any recommended changes.

NBA DFS Value Vault: December 4

With Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis out, it’s going to be the Jalen Brunson show today. With both of them off the floor this year, Brunson has a 23.7% USG and 1.1 FP/min. When Brunson got four starts last week, Brunson put up 30+ FP in four straight and three of them ended with 40+ DKP. He’s simply too cheap for a guy that’s going to command the ball throughout this game. Memphis is a bottom-five defense in basketball and look for Brunson to exploit that.

Big Gains and Bigger Drops Highlight Early 2022 Draft Outlook

The NBA season may only be at the quarter pole, but that doesn’t mean some teams (and fans) aren’t already keeping one eye on the draft. Detroit, Orlando, Houston, Oklahoma City, and New Orleans already seem to be on a lottery course for various reasons: chiefly, not having enough good basketball players.

What's Really Going on Here?

Fauci, to paraphrase "Yellowstone's" Beth Dutton, has half the people and all the government. Beth's advice was for a woman to recognize her own worth and put her boyfriend in his place; Fauci's situation today is far more perilous. Fauci also has half the charm of J. Edgar, and twice the totalitarian instinct. He'll end up on the wrong end of a pike somewhere, perhaps courtesy of PETA activists. Or we might hear about a Jimmy Hoffa-style disappearance, as the powers-that-be increasingly find him to be a liability to the great reset.
