Village art couple tell their untamed story

Before they were a successful local art couple with a rich past, Michael Stanko and Karen Zang first became high school sweethearts in Central High. It all started for them when Stanko befriended Zang in tenth grade, after noticing her hand-embroidered Yellow Submarine-inspired dungaree jacket, bonding over the iconic British rock band. Zang graduated from the New York City School of Visual Arts in 1979. During her college years, she produced paintings of idols and ordinary people with precise realism while at the same time creating protest posters during the anti-war fervor of the 70s. Since Zang and Stanko were quite precocious for their age, they hung around a much older crowd of friends, who resisted the draft during the Vietnam War. Both attended dozens of peace demonstrations in New York City and Washington D.C.

Is it low enough yet? $110 = 15k power

How long will it take until Gargoya Lion hits the floor? How much will that really be? Since I'm not back all in Splinterlands yet, even though holders certainly don't want card prices dropping, since I want to buy in, of course I want DEC back at 1k = $1 and Gargoya Lion at $0.01. Eventually, it'll rise in price again, obviously! So when you get desperate to sell, I'll buy it off your hands. Maybe it'll hit $0.02 in a week. That would be lovely! Just got some Lions below $0.035 btw.

Glennon Doyle Taught Me How To Do Hard Things — Even At Work

When it comes to my work-life, I’ve not always had the motivation and drive that I do now. In fact, a few years ago, I used to dread most of my everyday work: the daily commute, sitting in one chair all day, the mundane nature of some tasks, and sometimes, the feeling of being underappreciated by colleagues. But as time has gone on in my career, the negative approach and relationship I had to my work-life have shifted to a much more positive, uplifting and encouraging one — with much thanks to Glennon Doyle.

Legacy Editor's Notebook: The untamed shrew — tough little warriors deserve respect

To be so nauseating that little else wants to eat you is the ultimate indignity in the natural world. On the spectrum of deliciousness, commonly encountered coastal corpses range from cottontail bunnies — nothing left but random tufts of hair by the next postmortem morning — to shrews, which are sometimes left untouched to drearily evaporate back into the soil and air.

No Airdrop cards this time, but damn what an amount of cards

The second phase of the presale of Splinterlands has ended which means another airdrop of cards is being unlocked. Even better this time, two oppertunities of receiving an airdrop have been unlocked. Last time I was the happy person to receive 4 Dr Blight cards which seemed more than reasonable to my 117 packs of cards, this time there was a lot less luck.

Anya Hindmarch: ‘Emotion is a female superpower’

The British fashion designer talks about the benefits of bringing emotion to the workplace in her book, ‘If in Doubt Wash Your Hair’. Put your own oxygen mask on first. Award-winning fashion designer, successful entrepreneur and mother of five, Anya Hindmarch knows a thing or two about stress — juggling 60 stores, design, PTA meetings, and her Instagram-ready civil projects can’t have been easy. For over 30 years, this queen of handbags, with fans like Kate Moss and the Duchess of Cambridge, has also kept customers going with her witticisms. But in her new book, If in Doubt, Wash Your Hair, Hindmarch, 53, embraces fear, self-doubt and self-care. Thus the oxygen mask reference at the beginning of this article, which is also chapter three in her book.
