House antitrust chair calls on Twitter to suspend Trump's account for 'posting lies' at 'breathtaking clip' on election

Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., on Wednesday urged Twitter Inc. to suspend President Donald J. Trump's Twitter account for "posting lies and misinformation at a breathtaking clip" on election results. In a tweet, Cicilline, chairman of a House antitrust committee, called Trump's repeated false claims of victory in the presidential race and charges of fraud "a threat to our democracy and should be suspended until all the votes are counted." Early Wednesday, the social-media company did flag a tweet from Trump that falsely claimed victory. Twitter did not immediately respond to an email message seeking comment.
