COVID-19 is soaring out of control in North Dakota. There are thousands of new infections and dozens of new deaths per month. Hospitals in the state are overwhelmed, and are basically out of beds. All this is primarily because many North Dakotans refuse to be vaccinated. The state ranks a dangerous and embarrassing 47th in the nation in vaccination rates.

Edinboro Student Hospitalized After Being Stabbed In The Head

By: KDKA-TV News Staff EDINBORO (KDKA) — A student has spent nearly a week in the hospital after being stabbed in the head in downtown Edinboro. According to, 20-year-old Jackson McLaughlin was stabbed on September 18.  The stabbing allegedly took place following a brief argument between McLaughlin and 26-year-old Tyler Nelson. Nelson is facing attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and other charges related to the incident. McLaughlin was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment. reports that he remained hospitalized as of Friday. Nelson is being held in the Erie County Prison on $100,000 bond.

Looking for clues! During Netflix’s TUDUM: A Netflix Global Fan Event, the streaming giant revealed a brief teaser of Stranger Things season 4. During the virtual event on Saturday, September 25, show stars Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery and Matt and Ross Duffer introduced the new clip, and it’s clear peculiar circumstances are afoot. The trailer begins with a family of four stepping out of a vintage car in front of a Victorian-looking house. As they move in, a rendition of “Dream A Little Dream of Me” plays in the background. The perfect-looking family exchange odd glances as the lights flicker and they notice dead animals in the driveway. Later, their two small children are seen passed out on the foyer floor.

Duquesne University Extends President Dr. Ken Gormley’s Contract

By: KDKA-TV News Staff PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Duquesne University President Ken Gormley will remain president for a while. Dr. Gormley’s contract has been renewed by the university for another five years. The university’s board said during his tenure, Dr. Gormley has pursued the launch of a new medical school, oversaw the rebuilding of the Cooper Fieldhouse, driven an action plan for diversity and equity, and has raised more than $162 million in donations. The new contract will keep Dr. Gormley with the university through 2027.
