MMA Groups Battle in Court as Squared Circle Gives Way to Triangle

You know the first rule: You don’t talk about Fight Club. Yet a new federal lawsuit is forcing a conversation about fight club rings—namely, whether their unique designs are protected under intellectual property law. BYB Extreme Fighting Series, a Miami-based provider of bare-knuckle fighting events, charges that rival Triller Fight Club has unlawfully infringed BYB’s triangular-shaped ring design. The complaint, filed in Florida on Nov. 18, also names streaming service FITE TV as a defendant. Triller Fight Club and FITE TV are both owned by TrillerNet. The complaint was signed by Florida IP attorney David Friedland, on behalf of BYB. Last Saturday...

Triller exec: Dana White needs to ‘learn how a proper production is done’

Triller Fight Club returned on Saturday night (Nov. 27, 2021) with another oddball night of combat sports, this time with their new sub-promotion Triad Combat (watch highlights here). The concept: a triangular boxing ring where fighters box with smaller gloves and clinch fighting is allowed. The apparent idea is to give mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters more of a fair chance against boxers in crossover affairs, because that’s the niche Triller is trying to build itself in.

The Dark Side of the Power of Social Media

Today I sued Ethan Klein. He has lied to his followers and the public and profited from it. I was left with no choice but to do exactly what he has told his millions of fans I did prior, sue him. On April 17, 2021, Triller, a company I have...

Here’s Another Embarrassing Stunt Boxing Match

Perhaps you’ve heard of Triller. It’s a video editing/sharing app that is seen as a low-level competitor to TikTok (an app you’ve definitely heard of). One thing that differentiates Triller from TikTok, Vine, or any other short-video app is that Triller promotes stunt boxing cards featuring everything from Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr., to Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren, to Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort. (Big Daddy Kane vs. KRS-One was a hip-hop battle, not one with fists.)
