Motorcyclist injured in crash with truck driven by Cape man

A Cape Coral man was involved in a crash Monday evening in Charlotte County that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital in critical condition. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Royal Poinciana at 6:27 p.m., when a tow truck, driven by the 57-year-old Cape man, attempted a U-turn from the northbound lanes of U.S. 41 onto the southbound lanes of the highway. As he was making the turn, the Cape man drove the tow truck into the path of a southbound motorcycle driven by a 20-year-old Punta Gorda resident.
