Bloomington woman dies in crash on southwest Twin Cities highway

A 76-year-old Bloomington woman died in a crash after she pulled out in front of another vehicle, according to authorities. Sharon Thran was behind the wheel of a Chevy Spark Thursday afternoon in Sand Creek Township, the State Patrol said. At about 5:15 p.m., she pulled out from the Bluff Drive approach and attempted to cross 169 Highway, just south of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival grounds.

Waite Park Man Dies After Hit by Semi

A Waite Park man died after he was hit by a semi-truck Thursday morning near Wheaton. The State Patrol says 24-year-old Jesse Kapela died at the scene. The State Patrol says the truck driver, a 37-year-old from Glenwood, was on 650th Street and was backing onto Highway 27 in Traverse County when he struck the pedestrian.

76-Year-Old Woman Killed In Scott County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 76-year-old woman died in a crash southwest of the metro area on Thursday night. The incident took place on Highway 169 at Bluff Drive in Scott County. According to the State Patrol, a Chevrolet Equinox was going south on Hwy 169 and a Chevrolet Spark was at Bluff Drive, trying to cross traffic. Then the Spark pulled out in front of the Equinox, which was not able to stop. Austin man injured in Freeborn County collision

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Minn. – A two-vehicle collision in Freeborn County sends a Mower County man to the hospital. It happened around 7 pm on Interstate 90. The Minnesota State Patrol says Travis Lyle Wayne, 31 of Austin, and Todd Edwin Nelson, 57 of Austin, were both driving west when they collided around mile marker 170.

Another Minnesotan Killed By Semi-Truck

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man was killed Thursday in western Minnesota after being struck by a semi-truck. The State Patrol says the truck was trying to back onto a highway near the town of Wheaton when it hit the victim. He was identified as 24-year-old Jesse Kapela of Waite Park. He died at the scene of the accident that happened around 8:30 am. The truck was driven by 37-year-old Nicholas Hunter of Glenwood.

Mower County driver involved in Blue Earth County collision

BLUE EARTH COUNTY, Minn. – A Mower County driver is involved in a two-vehicle injury accident east of Mankato. The State Patrol says it happened around 5:45 pm Friday at the intersection of Highway 14 Blue Earth County Road 86. A northbound 2017 Chevy Malibu driven by a 23-year-old female from Grand Meadow and an eastbound 2016 Ford Transit Van driven by a 37-year-old male from Faribault collided in the intersection.

WINNESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa – A Minnesota motorcycle rider is hurt in a northeast Iowa collision. The Iowa State Patrol says it happened around 3 pm Friday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 9 and Centennial Road. The State Patrol says Dawn Brings of Howard Lake, MN, was eastbound on a motorcycle when the compact SUV driven by Julie Norris of Postville pulled out into the intersection.

Glenwood man involved in fatal pedestrian crash near Wheaton

A Glenwood man was involved in a fatal crash with a pedestrian in Traverse County on Thursday morning, Sept. 23. Nicholas Bo Hunter, 37, was driving a 2010 Kenwood tractor and was on 650th Street and attempting to back onto Highway 27 near Wheaton when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who died in the crash, according to the State Patrol.

Pedestrian Fatally Struck by School Bus in Northeast Iowa

(Guttenberg, IA) — A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a school bus this morning (Thursday) in northeast Iowa. The State Patrol says a St. Mary’s School bus in Guttenberg struck 66-year-old Judy Plus. Troopers say Plus was trying to cross at an intersection when she was struck by the bus and died of her injuries. No charges have been filed against the 73-year-old bus driver. The incident is still under investigation. St. Mary’s posted about the crash on social media this morning saying there was a fatality that didn’t involve students.
