The Board of Trustees of North Cross School in Roanoke, VA, is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Armistead Lemon ’95 has been appointed the Head of School, effective July 1, 2022. Ms. Lemon is the ninth Head of School at North Cross, and notably the first woman and first alumna to serve in the position. The Board’s unanimous decision to select Ms. Lemon followed the enthusiastic and unanimous recommendation of the Search Committee.

The National Renewables Cooperative Organization Announces New CEO

The National Renewables Cooperative Organization (NRCO) Board of Directors announced today (Sept 16) that they have unanimously selected Michael Keyser as NRCO's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Keyser's start date will be January 1, 2022. Keyser succeeds Amadou Fall, who served as CEO from the company's inception in 2008 until February 2021, when he joined North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation as Chief Operating Officer.

United Arts Council names new executive director

HICKORY — The board of directors of the United Arts Council of Catawba County announced that Ingrid Anna-Lisa Keller has been named its new executive director. Keller, currently executive director of the Western Piedmont Symphony, will replace Kathryn Greathouse, who will retire at the end of 2021, after a cumulative 26 years in that position.

Superintendent search begins in Carter

The Carter County Board of Education met with the Superintendent Search Committee for the first official time Monday evening. The search committee consists of two teachers in the district, one board of education member, one principal, one parent and one classified employee as defined by KRS 160.352. The board member, chosen by the board chair, is Rachel Fankell. The principal, chosen by the principals, is Star Elementary Principal Charles Baker. The two teachers, chosen by the teachers, are Heather Berry and Linda Burton. The classified employee, chosen by the classified employees is Renee Steele, and the parent, chosen by the parent organization, is Kathy Manzoni.
