Paris Police met with a victim of fraud in the lobby of the Police Department at 9:44 Monday night. The victim reported that they had let a known person use their debit card at a store and later found 13 fraudulent transactions where they used the card on a gaming site. The incident is under investigation.

Rialto middle schooler arrested after loaded handgun found in backpack, police say

A 13-year-old was arrested Monday, Sept. 27, after bringing a loaded handgun in his backpack to Kolb Middle School in Rialto, police said. A safety-intervention officer with the Rialto Unified School District found the weapon after the student was detained and a search conducted, said Syeda Jafri, a spokeswoman for the school district.

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Two suspects are being sought by police after a robbery in Carbondale. Carbondale Police say at about 11:50 p.m. Friday night, a person was walking in the 700 block of South Dixon Street when they were approached by two men, one armed with a handgun. The victim told police that they tried to fight their attackers, but the thieves eventually took their property and then ran south, firing a shot into the air as they made their escape. The victim received minor injuries.
