Whiteville teen dies from COVID-19

After being on the ventilator for more than a month, Whiteville High School senior Channing Jones died from COVID-19 complications on Monday. Jones, 17, tested positive for the virus at the end of August, along with his mother Lamisha Moore. Moore, who was vaccinated, quickly recovered. Jones, who was not, never was able to breathe on his own again.
