Vogel Memorial Award recipients announced

WAPAKONETA — The Eric Vogel Memorial Award was presented after this year’s Auglaize County Fair. The award is given annually to two outstanding junior fair board members. The memorial recognizes board members for their commitment to making the junior fair a success. The winners have also given leadership to the board through their hard work and exemplify the qualities of a junior fair board member. The memorial award is to be presented each year to the two Junior Fair Board members who contribute most to the current year’s fair.

Digital Avenue receives fair board contract

SIDNEY — Digital Avenue, an advertising and public relations firm based in Houston, Ohio, which won last year’s bid, has secured agreements with the Shelby County Ag Society (fair board) for 2022. Tulare County Fair declared a success

TULARE – The Tulare County Fair was a hit in 2021, and just the kind of shot in the arm the community needed. After a less than traditional fair experience in 2020 the Tulare County Fair CEO Dena Rizzardo called this year a success, and was happy to see families stream through the gates for five days in September.

Tulare County Fair celebrates success

The Tulare County Fair drew a record number of attendees and generated much-needed funding to support the 2022 fair, announced CEO Dena Rizzardo. “We are so grateful for the attendees, the entertainers and the exhibitors who participated and helped make the 2021 fair a huge success,” Rizzardo said. “And our youth benefitted from a very successful livestock auction. We are grateful to all who helped launch this successful community gathering.”

By the time most of you have an opportunity to read this column, the 170th annual Coshocton County Fair will be winding down with maybe a stray Stromboli or pygmy goat rambling across the fairgrounds. A gorgeous Saturday certainly provided fairgoers with a great day to enjoy the fair, food and socializing with friends and family.

Brandon Axe and Madison Jeffries were crowned the 2021 Anna High School homecoming king and queen. Axe is the son of Chris and Jennifer Axe. He is involved in football, track, and is a member of the FFA. He also participates in CYO basketball. Jeffries is the daughter of Randy and Amy Esser. She is co-captain of the volleyball team, vice president of the FFA, and vice president of the Student Council. Madison is a member of 4-H and serves on the Junior Fair Board.
