Booker T. Washington beats Scarborough in battle between area football teams

In a battle between local high school football teams last week, the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles continued to impress as the season nears its midway point. The Golden Eagles defeated the Scarborough Spartans 54-0 last Thursday night at Dyer Stadium in the District 10-4A opener for both squads, improving to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district. The loss dropped Scarborough to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in district play.

Villanova, Pa.- Villanova women's soccer fell to Marquette on Sunday afternoon by a final of 3-1. The Wildcats move to 6-4 overall and 0-2 in BIG EAST play. In the 20th minute Villanova got on the board when Francesca Yanchuk sent a cross pass that was intended for Chloe O'Neill but instead Marquette's Katrina Wetherell kick the ball into her own goal giving the Wildcats the early lead.
