Ubisoft Sales Suffer Expected Drop, Free to Play Titles Will Appear Soon but They Won’t Forget Premium Titles

Ubisoft‘s first quarter earnings have revealed a drop in sales compared to the same quarter during the last financial year, something the publisher was expecting. To halt this decline, Ubisoft wants to expand the size of the audience for some of their franchises by expanding them into the free-to-play sector, but this doesn’t mean they will be completely forgetting about premium titles — they have “ambitious plans” for those too.

Ubisoft is about to unveil a new Tom Clancy's game

The Tom Clancy's license needs no introduction. The series of spy novels that the games are based on were already quite successful on their own, but they were made even more famous thanks to their video game adaptations. Today, Ubisoft holds the rights to the license, and players are currently enjoying Rainbow Six Siege and The Division 2 while waiting for their successors. We have already discovered a few things about Rainbow Six Extraction, formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, and The Division Heartland at the last Ubisoft Forward, but it seems that the company still has a lot of work to do when it comes to Tom Clancy's.
