Ubisoft Will Put Its Games on Steam Deck 'If It's Big Enough'

After a pointed departure from Steam releases in recent years, Ubisoft might be reconsidering the platform thanks to Valve's recent new handheld announcement: the Steam Deck. In its Q1 earnings call today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot responded to an investor question about his thoughts on the Steam Deck by suggesting it might spark future Ubisoft game releases on the platform:

Tom Clancy’s XDefiant Currently Exclusive to Ubisoft Connect on PC

Ubisoft fully revealed Tom Clancy’s XDefiant earlier this week to a rather mixed response (at least if the Like/Dislike ratio on the videos is to be believed). Its first closed test will take place on August 5th and a full launch is a ways off. However, it seems that the free to play competitive FPS will be limited to Ubisoft Connect when it releases for PC.

Ubisoft Might Put its Games on the Steam Deck Depending on “How Big it Becomes”

It’s been a while since Ubisoft released a game on PC via Steam. Starting with The Division 2 in 2019, they’ve stuck with the Epic Games Store on top of their own digital storefront, Ubisoft Connect, while their upcoming free-to-play arena shooter Tom Clancy’s XDefiant is going to be exclusive to the latter. But with the Steam Deck coming up soon, is that going to change?

New Tom Clancy game is an FPS, not Splinter Cell

A new Ubisoft Tom Clancy game is being revealed later today, and the main hope from fans worldwide was that it’d be the announcement of a new Splinter Cell game. However, it seems there won’t be a Splinter Cell reveal today, as the new Tom Clancy game is a possible multiplayer-only FPS that may be a spin-off of The Division 2. Referred to as Tom Clancy’s BattleCat, the new Ubisoft FPS has had a few snippets of gameplay released in advance of the big showing later today.

Tom Clancy's XDefiant competitive shooter revealed

I saw Ubisoft's tease for this new game yesterday, and it isn't a surprise that so many commenters on social media guessed it wrong, as Tom Clancy's XDefiant mixes multiple IPs from previous titles (not just one) to create this new F2P game. What Ubisoft has done to create XDefiant is to build a roster of factions and characters from Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and The Division universes, then mixed them up for a fast-paced arena FPS, with a focus on gunplay.

Resident Evil Re:Verse has been delayed all the way to 2022

Capcom has delayed Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer companion game to Resident Evil Village, until 2022. Outriders Review…I’m Out…

When Outriders was announced at E3 2019, it was received with mixed feelings. A later gameplay reveal caused many critics to compare the game with other live service games like Destiny and Tom Clancy’s Division. Polish developer People Can Fly maintained that Outriders is not a live service title, but a game that people can “start and finish”.
