Butler Transit Authority bus driver dies amid driver shortage due to COVID-19 outbreak

BUTLER, Pa. — A bus driver with the Butler Transit Authority died Friday morning due to COVID-19 complications. This news comes amid an ongoing driver shortage after 10 out of 12 drivers were out sick with COVID-19. Transit Authority executive director John Paul said the driver was a 38-year-old man. No other information on the driver has been provided at this time.

Butler Transit Authority Stops Local Service Due To Driver Shortage

By: KDKA-TV News Staff BUTLER (KDKA) – The Butler Transit Authority has announced it is stopping its local service due to a driver shortage. According to its website, local service is shut down indefinitely and the earliest buses could resume regular service is early next month. The authority’s executive director said the reason is most of their drivers are sick. Commuter routes will resume after the authority contracted those routes to Coach USA Lenzner.
