Blue Jays try again to slow rolling Red Sox

The Toronto Blue Jays were reminded Monday night why a close lead late never feels safe against this year's Boston Red Sox. The refresher came courtesy of Alex Verdugo, whose go-ahead, two-run home run in the eighth inning carried the Red Sox past the visiting Blue Jays 5-4 in the opener of a four-game series. The victory was Boston's major-league-leading 33rd coming from behind and second in as many days.

Nats listening on all but Soto 'at right price'

Having won just five games since July 1, the Nationals appear to officially be in sell mode at the Trade Deadline. A source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand that the Nationals are informing teams that anybody on the roster other than Juan Soto can be had at the right price. MLB Network insider Jon Heyman previously reported that Trea Turner is included in the available players due to the club's lack of traction on extension attempts.
