Audio: Bible classes could be taught in Missouri public schools under proposed bill

Public school students in Missouri would be able to study the Bible as an elective if a pre-filed bill (SB684) in the State Senate becomes law. Democrat Karla May of St. Louis is sponsoring the proposal. A summary of the bill on the Senate’s website says the courses would not “endorse, favor, promote, or show hostility” to other religions or nonreligions. They would instead focus on such things as literary style, history, and impacts on society. Missouri’s legislative session begins next month.

Why does the Bible say that Jesus’ kingdom will never fail?

Q: History proves that empires eventually fall. Why is this, and why does the Bible say that Jesus’ kingdom will never fail? – K.E. A: How does the Kingdom of God differ from man’s created societies? Conversion is a requirement of citizenship in Heaven. Jesus Christ said, “Unless you are converted… you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). Those who belong to God’s Kingdom are transformed from the inside out by the power of God, delivered from the power of darkness. “In [Him] we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:14).
