Alton Crash Victim Extricated, Taken To Local Hospital, Then Airlifted To St. Louis Hospital

ALTON - Alton Fire Department and Alton Police Department responded to a serious crash in the 1100 block of Milton Road in Alton on Thursday afternoon. A driver in one of the vehicles had to be extricated and was injured and taken to a local hospital. The injured person was then airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for further evaluation. Two Dogs Perish After Air Fryer Fire

ALTON - Two dogs perished in a fire Monday afternoon that occurred with an air fryer on top of a stove in the 2500 block of Alfaretta Avenue in Alton. Alton Fire Chief Jesse Jemison said a woman thought the air fryer was unplugged when she left the home, and it still heated up under the microwave and cabinetry and briefly caught fire and distributed considerable smoke throughout the home.

Alton fire fatality identified

EDWARDSVILLE — The body of a man found in the remains of a structure fire in Alton Tuesday evening has been identified by the Madison County Coroner’s Office. The body of John P. Weber, 40, of Alton, was found Tuesday evening by friends or family of the victim. Firefighters had put out a structure fire in the apartment/garage in the 800 block of Arch Street in Alton Monday morning.

ALTON — A male subject who apparently died in a house fire early Monday was discoverd Tuesday evening by a friend or relative, according to city officials. Alton fire and police investigators were on the scene at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday with a Madison County Deputy Coroner, as well as an investigator from the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Alton Police, Fire, Coroner's Office Conduct Death Investigation In 800 Block Of Arch Street

ALTON - Alton Police Department, Alton Fire Department, and Madison County Coroner's Office are conducting a death investigation in the 800 block of Arch in Alton. The Alton Fire Department responded to a fire in the 800 block of Arch Street Monday morning where an apartment and garage caught fire.
