Gambling Regulators Need To Crack Down On Sports Gambling Ads Disguised As Journalism

In November 2014, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver wrote an op ed in the. calling for the legalization of sports gambling to allow fans to place small, friendly wagers on games they enjoy. If that were the way the sports gambling industry actually advertised their products, perhaps we would be in a better place. However, the messaging about sports gambling in this country is getting darker and more concerning—especially as the separation between gambling businesses and journalists has become more obscure, and more articles are published that may at first seem like traditional journalism, but actually serve to promote gambling behaviors—all without clear disclosures as to their nature.

Vikings vs. Lions NFL Week 14 odds, spread, trends: Minnesota surprising underdog but taking massive betting action

Are the Minnesota Vikings the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL? "No respect!" It's rather unusual to see a 10-2 division leader as an underdog at a 5-7 team, but that's the case for Minnesota on Sunday in Detroit as the Viking are +2.5. However, bettors at Caesars Sportsbook are simply crushing Kirk Cousins & Co. on the spread and moneyline (+118)

Study shows Chargers coach Brandon Staley takes most heat on social media

A new study has found that when it comes to social media hate over the last year, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is the most disliked in the NFL. Being a head coach in any professional sport is a tough gig, but in the NFL it seems like the life span is shorter than most. The patience organizations have in developing a consistent winner can be short — as Matt Rhule found out this season. The same could be said for fans who can be very unforgiving when their favorite teams fail.

Bleacher Report's Expert Week 14 NFL Picks

For Week 14, seven out of 13 NFL games feature division battles, which means bettors should be cautious with heavy favorites because familiarity between opponents oftentimes results in close scores. With those contests in mind, our crew had to carefully sort through a matchup with a quarterback change (because of injury) and a spread that just doesn’t make sense.

South Carolina headed to Gator Bowl

The South Carolina football team has been rewarded for its finish to the season with a trip to the Gator Bowl, according to Brett McMurphy of the Action Network. USC's Caleb Williams officially a Heisman finalist, remains favorite to win

Caleb Williams wasn't himself in the Pac-12 championship game last week, playing through a "severe" hamstring injury sustained on USC's second series, but even though it wasn't a peak performance it may well have strengthened his Heisman Trophy case nonetheless. Three days after completing 28 of 41 passes for 363...
