An Iconic Harry Winston Design from the 1960s Comes Back to Life

“If I could, I would attach diamonds directly onto a woman’s skin,” Harry Winston once said. The legendary jeweler nearly accomplished the feat when he created the Cluster, an innovative design that featured diamonds in delicate, virtually invisible settings that appeared to float on a woman’s body. Conjured in the 1940s and inspired by a snow-dusted Christmas wreath (only Winston could have seen glistening diamonds in winter foliage), it revolutionized jewelry—and is still a house signature today.

2022 Oscar Predictions: BEST ACTOR (September)

41 years. That’s how long it’s been since the Best Actor category at the Academy Awards was comprised entirely of previous winners or nominees. In fact, in 93 years it’s only ever happened three times (1975 and 1979 were the others) so even if you’re not a huge stat person (and stats do fall nearly every year) it seems hard to go against it even in a year overflowing with winners like Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joaquin Phoenix and Nicolas Cage and nominees Will Smith, Benedict Cumberbatch and Bradley Cooper. So how does one break through that to land a first nomination?

1964: The year the Demons last won a flag

It has been a long time for the Melbourne Football Club since they last tasted success. 57 years to be exact, making it the longest active premiership drought in the AFL. The last time Melbourne were in a Grand Final was 2000 - when they were wiped off the park by the Bombers to the tune of 10 goals, and the last time they won was in 1964 when Ron Barassi and Norm Smith led the Demons to a premiership over Collingwood by four points.
