SEAT to extend chip-related output suspensions into 2022

Volkswagen Group’s SEAT brand is planning partial car assembly suspensions into 2022 due to shortages of critical semiconductor components. Reuters cited a statement from the company that said the deterioration in the supply of semiconductors now requires reorganizing that meant SEAT has started negotiating a furlough plan with local unions to cancel some working shifts to June 30, 2022.
