76 COVID Cases in 17 States Linked to North Carolina Christian Summer Camp

Health authorities have linked 76 COVID-19 cases in 17 states to The Wilds Christian Camp and Conference Center in Brevard, North Carolina. Officials with the Transylvania County public health department have linked the cases to campers and staff members who attended the camp between June 28 to July 17, The State reported.

Hanover Park Car & Motorcycle Show

The Hanover Park proudly sponsors the 12th annual Car & Motorcycle Show on August 1st from 12-4pm. The event benefits the Hanover Park Community Resource Coalition to raise funds for youth summer camp programs. This summer camp program helps 40 local children attend an 8-week long camp. The camp includes field trips, swimming, life skills and much more. This is a FREE event open to the public, and will be fun for all ages. The event will feature live music from The Stingers Band, food trucks and a 50/50 raffle. Advanced car entry registrations are recommended and being accepted now through July 23rd for a $15.00 fee. After July 23rd, registration to display your vehicle at the car show will be open the day of the event from 9 am to Noon; walk-in registration for vehicles is $20. For registration information, call Gayle at 847-514-4349. Car registrars will be provided with a free t-shirt for the first 200 entries. Trophies will be awarded for; Best of Show, Best Paint, and Best Engine.

Summer camp keeps St. Peter Cathedral School buzzing in July: Photo gallery

WILMINGTON — St. Peter Cathedral School was buzzing in July with students who attended a four-week summer camp. The first week included a museum visit, math games, computer coding, jazz music and other activities. The students also programmed robots and studied other STEM subjects, participated in fine arts and got some physical activity. The final week included a visit to a local library and a chance to splash around the fountain at Rodney Square.

Free photography camp Aug. 2-5 for BIPOC youth

A free summer camp that will teach the basics of photography to Snohomish County BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color) youth ages 12-18 is being held at Mill Creek’s Mixed coffee shop Aug. 2-5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Participants with various levels of experience who are interested in photography will receive hands-on experiences, a chance to create their own mini-portfolio and also learn how the medium can be used to fight injustice.
