Trolling for Striped Bass with my new Bone Voyage Rod!!!

Video Cover
I got to try out a new rod and setup today! I really enjoyed how light but strong the rod was while fishing with it. The 4 piece feature offers great connivence, however I was a bit skeptical of how it would perform and hold together. As many customers said, it really felt just like a one piece rod and the sensitivity of the rod really impressed me. With that said, I definitely recommend this rod for Ultra-Light fishing purposes. I hope you enjoyed this video!

In the United Kingdom, France, and Spain swims a close relative of the striped bass, the European sea bass. To know what one looks like, imagine a smaller striper, and remove the stripes. Much like the striped bass in the Northeast, the European sea bass is the most popular and sought-after species in the countries where it swims. Also not unlike the striped bass, the European sea bass fishery has been poorly managed, and commercial netters have been allowed to target spawning aggregations, sending the population into freefall. European surfcasters hoping to catch this beleaguered species have become extremely particular about their tackle and lures.

Routine Chaos: Fly Fishing Rips for Striped Bass [Gear, Tips and Tactics]

New England’s rips can provide some of the East Coast’s most insane Striper fishing. Picture this; you’re in a boat, birds are screaming, and the only thing that separates you and the calm water above the shoal from the churned-up chop behind the rip is a standing wave and a wall of angry Striped Bass. While these hectic days can get a little sketchy, especially in a small boat, (ie. 14’ Boston Whaler; a story for another time) they are a blast to fish and are routinely some of the best trips of the year.

Stripers, black bass both hitting on the Delta

It’s great when you catch and release black bass or striped bass on any fishing trip. It’s even better when you catch and release a bunch of both species on an angling adventure in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. On a trip to Liberty Island in the North Delta last...

The stockings met or exceeded DNR’s 2021 stocking goals for the two species.

Are striped bass doomed? Some conservationists are worried.

July 26, 2021 — Fish, particularly species known as both sporting fish and table fare like the striped bass, need to be managed, collectively, among the states where they are sought. There’s often tinkering year to year, a tidelike give-and-take of state regulations — such as rules governing how many fish one person can keep — to appease recreational anglers, charter boat captains and commercial fishermen. That tinkering extends to other species of fish the striped bass eat. In some places, like the Chesapeake, Cape Cod and Montauk, at the eastern tip of Long Island, striped bass are intertwined with both the economy and the culture.

Fishermen, conservationists battle over striped bass catch

A few months earlier, a New England-based nonprofit group called Stripers Forever, aimed at protecting the striped bass as a game fish, called for a 10-year moratorium on the harvest of stripers from Maine to North Carolina, including in the Chesapeake, the largest striped bass nursery area on the East Coast. Anglers could still catch striped bass, but every one would have to be released. Many who fish for sport do that already. For Motovidlak, his charter customers and any of the hundreds of other fishermen looking for a meal on this cool June morning, however, a moratorium would mean no fish filets. “What it means is retirement,” he said of a potential moratorium, which, if enacted, would be carried out by state officials.
