### Investigation of hidden-charm pentaquarks in single strangeness sector

Recently, a new hidden-charm pentaquark state $P_{cs}(4459)$ was reported by the LHCb Collaboration. Stimulated by the fact that all hidden-charm pentaquark states in $S=0$ systems were successfully predicted by our chiral quark model, we extended this study to the $S=-1$ systems. All possible quantum numbers $IJ^P=0(\frac{1}{2})^-$, $0(\frac{3}{2})^-$, $0(\frac{5}{2})^-$, $1(\frac{1}{2})^-$, $1(\frac{3}{2})^-$ and $1(\frac{5}{2})^-$ have been investigated. The calculation results shows that the newly observed state $P_{cs}(4459)$ can be explained as $\Xi_c' \bar{D}$ molecular state and the quantum number is $0(\frac{1}{2})^-$. In addition, we also find other molecular states $\Xi_c \bar{D}$, $\Xi_c \bar{D}^*$. It is worth mentioning that $\Xi_c \bar{D}^*$ can form a two-peak structure from states in system $0(\frac{1}{2})^-$ and $0(\frac{3}{2})^-$. The decay width of all molecular states is given with the help of real scaling method. These hidden-charm pentaquark states is expected to be further verified in future experiments.

### Reinterpretation of proton strangeness between ATLAS and CMS measurements

We reexamine the shapes of the strange quark parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the proton by means of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) analysis of {\hera} deep inelastic scattering cross section measurement at DESY, and inclusive gauge boson production and $W$ boson production associated with a charm quark from LHC at CERN. We find that there is an overall agreement on the strange quark distributions obtained from CMS $W$ + charm and ATLAS $W/Z$ data at the parton momentum fraction range $x \lesssim 10^{-2}$. Meanwhile, there is also a strong tension between these data towards large $x$. We find that this tension fades away if the ATLAS measurement of $W/Z$ production is analyzed together with the ATLAS $W$ + charm data. The $W/Z$ and $W$ + charm data both from ATLAS and CMS experiments agree that the proton strangeness is enhanced towards small momentum fraction $x$ and is smoothly suppressed at large $x$. Furthermore, a strong $x$ dependence of the strange-to-non-strange parton ratio $R_s(x,Q^2)$ is observed.

### Apparent strangeness enhancement from multiplicity selection in high energy proton-proton collisions

The increase of strange-particle yields relative to pions versus charged-particle multiplicity in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the LHC is usually described by microscopic or hydrodynamical models as a result of the increasing density of produced partons or strings and their interactions. Instead, we consider the multiple partonic interaction (MPI) picture originally developed in the context of the PYTHIA event generator. We find that strangeness enhancement in PYTHIA is hidden by a large excess of low-$p_{\rm T}$ multi-strange baryons, which mainly results from the hadronization of $u$-quark, $d$-quark and gluon ($udg$) strings. Strange baryons produced in strings formed from parton showers initiated by strange quarks ($s$-fragmentation), however, describe well the spectral shapes of $\Xi$ and $\Omega$ baryons and their multiplicity dependence. Since the total particle yield contains contributions from soft and hard particle production, which cannot be experimentally separated, we argue that the correct description of the $p_{\rm T}$-spectra is a minimum requirement for meaningful comparisons of multiplicity dependent yield measurements to MPI based calculations. We demonstrate that the $s$-fragmentation component describes the increase of average $p_{\rm T}$ and yields with multiplicity seen in the data, including the approximate multiplicity scaling for different collision energies. When restricted to processes that reproduce the measured $p_{\rm T}$-spectra, the MPI framework exhibits a smooth evolution from strictly proportional multiplicity scaling ($K_{\rm S}^0$, $\Lambda$, where the $udg$-hadronization component dominates) to linearity ($s$-fragmentation) and on to increasingly non-linear behavior ($c$-, $b$-quark and high-$p_{\rm T}$ jet fragmentation), hence providing a unified approach for particle production in pp collisions.

### Hidden-charm tetraquarks with strangeness in the chiral quark model

The hidden-charm tetraquarks with strangeness, $c\bar{c}s\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d)$, in $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$ are systematically investigated in the framework of real- and complex-scaling range of a chiral quark model, whose parameters have been fixed in advance describing hadron, hadron-hadron and multiquark phenomenology. Each tetraquark configuration, compatible with the quantum numbers studied, is taken into account; this includes meson-meson, diquark-antidiquark and K-type arrangements of quarks with all possible color wave functions in four-body sector. Among the different numerical techniques to solve the Schrödinger-like 4-body bound state equation, we use a variational method in which the trial wave function is expanded in complex-range Gaussian basis functions, which is characterized by its simplicity and flexibility. This theoretical framework has already been used to study different kinds of multiquark systems, such as the hidden-charm pentaquarks, $P^+_c$, and doubly-charmed tetraquarks, $T^+_{cc}$. The recently reported $Z_{cs}$ states by the BESIII and LHCb collaborations are generally compatible with either compact tetraquark or hadronic molecular resonance configurations in our investigation. Moreover, several additional exotic resonances are found in the mass range between 3.8 GeV and 4.6 GeV.
