Pug Dumped in a box at SPCA and needs your help

Although this isn't the first time someone has abandoned an animal at our doors, it still hurts our hearts every time it happens. To leave a helpless senior dog in a cardboard box, like Charlie, a blind and deaf pug, is absolutely heartbreaking. There wasn't even a blanket inside to keep him comfortable and warm while he waited to be rescued, as he lay inside, scared and confused.

Local family provides Thanksgiving meal for SPCA

A local family took time out of their own Thanksgiving holiday to make it a special one for the sheltered pets at the Clinton County SPCA in Dunnstown. The Williams family — Nicole Williams, her daughter Aubrey Schreppel and mother Joan Williams — gave each cat and dog a lovely mix of homemade turkey, green beans, carrots and pumpkin puree Thursday.

Saskatoon city council kicks off budget deliberations

Saskatoon city council began three days of budget deliberations Monday. The session began with council discussing a number of general reports prepared by administration as background to the discussions ahead, along with presentations from a number of parties who wanted to provide comments meant to help shape the debate. At time of writing, the proposed property tax increases for 2022 and 2023 were 3.5 and 3.14 per cent, respectively .
