PlayStation Plus Premium marks a paradigm shift for Sony, but it's one that the company needs to evaluate a little further.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers -- which is to say, subscribers to the highest tier of PS Plus on PS4 and PS5 -- have lost access to a PS3 classic, or at least some PS Plus subscribers have. If you're in the United States, you have not lost access to the game. If you're in Europe, you have. After being available in the United States, PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Plus Extra recently rolled out in Europe and other parts of the world. Rumors associated with a new remaster of the original Red Dead Redemption seem to have gained some steam thanks to Sony's PlayStation Plus subscription service. At this point in time, Red Dead Redemption is actually available to play on the new PS Plus Premium tier as a legacy PS3 title. PS Plus Premium has a tonne of potential to be a fantastic subscription service, but it’s still very early days. Comparing this to Xbox Game Pass is like comparing apples and oranges — you will never see big day one releases on PS Plus, which sucks. But provided Sony continues to support this service with weekly drops of more new and classic titles, PlayStation’s onto something big.
