Face Covering to Be Required Indoors Regardless of Vaccination Status

Beginning Friday, August 6, Santa Barbara County Public Health is mandating the use of universal face coverings indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Public Health is closely monitoring case rates, and will be releasing a universal mandatory mask mandate in indoor settings only. The SBCPH HOO will be issued Wednesday, August 4, to be effective Friday, August 6 at 5:00 P.M. and will be available at https://publichealthsbc.org/. In all indoor Santa Barbara County businesses, masks will be required regardless of vaccination status. Updated signage for businesses will be posted later this week at recoverysbc.org. At this time, social distancing is not required.

Yuma City Council to Meet Wednesday in Chambers as Planned

The Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, in the Council Chambers at City Hall as regularly scheduled. Over the weekend, City Hall experienced a major plumbing failure which caused extensive water damage to portions of the facility. Currently, repair and restoration work is underway. New Stop Sign Location

The City of Bondurant has installed new stop signage at the intersection of Grant St. and 5th St. SE. These signs will be deployed during school drop-off and pickup times the same as years past. The signage at Grant St. and 4th St. SE (Crossing guard Location) and Grant St. and 3rd St. SE are still in place to help facilitate pedestrians crossing Grant St. safely to get to the Bondurant-Farrar School Campus.

Oak Bluffs health officials have closed Eastville Beach on the Lagoon side due to significantly high amounts of enterococci, a bacteria found in fecal matter. On Tuesday, the beach, which is tested weekly, had a sample that showed 981 colonies per 100 ml resulting in a geometric mean of 49.10 — both above state thresholds.
