Michigan Senate passes bill allowing permanent sale of take-out cocktails

The Michigan Senate recently passed legislation to make take-out cocktails a staple menu item for restaurants and bars across the state. Senate Bill 1163, sponsored by Sen. Curtis Hertel, D-East Lansing, would overturn the current expiration date of a previous law allowing qualifying businesses to sell alcoholic beverages outside of the store. Without passage of the Senate bill, the law expires at the end of 2025.
