Packers vs. Seahawks score: Russell Wilson stumbles badly in return as Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay claim ugly win

Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson made their anticipated return to the football field on Sunday afternoon -- Rodgers from COVID-19 and Wilson from injury. But the clash of All-Pro quarterbacks at Lambeau Field was anything but an offensive showcase, unless "offensive" is being used to mean "repulsive." In all seriousness, things weren't that bad between the Packers and the Seahawks, but they were pretty close. Wilson never got into a rhythm nor looked very comfortable coming off his finger injury, and while Rodgers wasn't a whole lot better, he at least had the support of a bruising AJ Dillon, the always-reliable Davante Adams and an opportunistic secondary; gutting it out to claim a 17-0 win over Seattle to improve to 8-2.

Bumpus: Seahawks’ turnaround on D incomplete without more turnovers

The Seahawks started the year extremely poor on defense, allowing 450 or more yards in four straight games from Week 2 to Week 5. Since then, though, Seattle’s defense has been among the league’s best, especially when it comes to third down stops. Questions still remain as to whether or not the defense is actually playing better or if they’re just taking advantage of favorable opportunities, though.

Packers vs. Seahawks final score, results: Green Bay defense shuts out Russell Wilson in Aaron Rodgers' return

Sunday's Packers vs. Seahawks game was supposed to be an offensive showdown featuring the return of two star quarterbacks. Instead, it was a defensive battle on a snowy Lambeau Field. Neither Aaron Rodgers nor Russell Wilson found the end zone in their first games back from a positive COVID-19 test and a finger injury, respectively. There were just three points total through the first three quarters.

Seahawks lament officiating decisions in loss to Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. — It was undeniable that the Seahawks didn’t score any points against the Packers in a 17-0 loss to Green Bay on Sunday. But they also felt they didn’t catch any breaks from the officials on a few plays they felt may have made a big difference.

Seahawks Oozing With Optimism Heading Into Second Half

Coming out of their bye week, the Seahawks face an uphill battle to extend their streak of making the playoffs to four consecutive seasons. At 3-5, they're tied for last place in the NFC West and currently lies in 10th place in the conference standings, well below where they expected to be after eight games.

Other than Darrell Taylor, the Seahawks pass rush has been Terrible

Second year “rookie” Darrell Taylor currently leads the Seattle Seahawks with four sacks so far on the season. This stands on its own as a respectable figure. If he makes a solid second half push, he has a chance to eclipse ten this year, and is looking like he may be the pass rusher that we all imagined when the team traded up to select him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. But as good as Darrell Taylor has looked at times, he is the only defensive linemen for the Seahawks who has been able to display any consistency in getting after the quarterback. As a unit, the team currently sits ahead of only the Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs, who have 11 and 12 sacks, respectively. Seattle is tied with the Detroit Lions with 14 sacks on the season.

Seahawks elevate Tanner Muse from practice squad

Sunday the Seattle Seahawks take on the Green Bay Packers in a crucial Week 10 matchup that could be key to keeping the playoff aspiration of the 2021 Seahawks alive. With that in mind, the team announced Friday that linebacker Cody Barton would be out for the showdown at Lambeau Field with a quadriceps injury. The news that a depth linebacker would miss a game itself is not typically cause for concern, but Barton plays a key role on special teams for Seattle, and that is a role that would need to be filled. The 160 special teams snaps he has logged so far this season is second only to safety Ryan Neal, so in order to make up the those snaps the Hawks looked to the practice squad.
