Philadelphia man caught in drug bust

A Philadelphia man is facing several drug charges after the 9th Judicial Drug Task Force and Loudon County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant. After entering a Philadelphia residence Thursday on Washington Pike, 9th DTF agent Cody Fritts and other law enforcement officers found Ryan Staryling Barr, another man and woman and two children in the living room. In the bedroom of Barr and the woman, officers found a bag with 42 grams of marijuana, 11 Clonazepam pills, digital scales, 48 jars containing 168 grams of marijuana, a vacuum wrap, pipes, plastic bags, packing material and money, according to a report by Fritts.

A Crowley man was arrested when a search of his car after a routine traffic stop resulted in the discovery of marijuana and pills. Gerald J. Johnson, 40, was pulled over near the intersection of North Parkerson Avenue and West 14th Street early Saturday morning after he reportedly drove through the traffic light there, according to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard.
