Podcast #257 – Interview with Reality Blurred’s Andy Dehnart

Fun and interesting conversation this week with Reality Blurred’s Andy Dehnart, making his 3rd or 4th appearance on the podcast. I love talking TV with critics and we basically cover 3 topics in today’s pdocast: the IATSE contract negotiations, the Cookout alliance from “Big Brother” this season, and all the changes on “Survivor” this season. However, the first 15 minutes of the podcast is me discussing a few of the big topics concerning Michelle’s season after one episode, namely people putting unrealistic expectations on Clayton and the Ryan situation that got him eliminated on Tuesday night. Then, I discuss yesterday’s spoiler on Clayton’s season regarding the 2-on-1 date and who is this season’s villain. A lot to digest this week over almost 90 minutes, so I hope you take the time to listen to all of it. As always, if you’d like respond to the interview, please include Andy’s Twitter handle (@realityblurred) in your replies. Thanks again to Andy for coming on as he’ll always be welcome on the podcast. Enjoy…

Welcome to !

On a completely unrelated topic: I just attended Dorian Abbot’s Princeton Zoom lecture (the one he was going to give at MIT before they cancelled it), and it was outstanding! He’s a really clear and engaging speaker. I went from knowing zero to knowing ε about the cloud covers of tidally locked exoplanets, how cloud cover could allow for liquid water (and habitability?) for planets much closer to a star than was previously believed possible, how the James Webb Space Telescope will hopefully soon tell us more about this, and how it could feed back into testing and improving general climate models of Earth. I just wish that they’d cut the 20 minutes of introductions extolling the value of free speech and used the time for Q&A! 🙂

The Electronic Wireless Show Podcast episode 161: the best songs in games special

It occurs to me now that "best songs" is probably not a great topic for the podcast, given that we do not perform any of the songs, or put them in the show. But on this week's episode of The Electronic Wireless show, we talk about them songs real good. Plus, we are joined by Randy Newman, who sounds a surprising amount like Matthew Castle.

New 'High Power' Mode in macOS Monterey Limited to 16-inch MacBook Pro With M1 Max Chip [Report]

A new 'High Power' mode spotted in macOS Monterey betas will be limited to the 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M1 Max chip, reports MacRumors. MacRumors contributor Steve Moser discovered references to High Power Mode in the macOS Monterey beta. This new setting is the opposite of "Low Power Mode," which aims to decrease system performance to prolong battery life. The new mode will only be available on the 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Max chip, not the 14-inch model or models with the M1 Pro.
