GTA Trilogy doesn’t include Vice or Liberty City Stories remasters

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition isn’t quite as definitive as it first sounds. Although Rockstar Games’ remaster collection includes the mainline PS2 trilogy, it doesn’t feature GTA Vice or Liberty City Stories remasters. Both of these prequels would debut on PSP before making the jump to PlayStation 2, yet neither will make the transition to modern consoles as part of the upcoming collection. Vice City Stories remastered and a Liberty City Stories remaster aren’t coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Why you can't blame the lack of GTA 6 news on the latest trilogy

Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games has given us a lot to think about over the past few days. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition arrives November 11, bringing three classic GTA titles to current and last-gen platforms. While it may be tempting to have a frustrated knee-jerk reaction to the news (many of us would rather get a GTA 6 update instead, right?) this new collection actually has little to do with the upcoming sequel. If anything, GTA 6 is far more likely to be a victim of current events rather than the development timeline.

The system requirements for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy aren’t too demanding

A Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy comparison trailer was posted on Friday, showing gamers what the three remasters will look like at launch. Although not everyone was happy, most people seemed pleasantly surprised by the visual upgrades. Usually, nice visuals come at the cost of heavier specification requirements. Although in this case, that isn’t true as the system requirements for The GTA Trilogy are surprisingly low.

GTA Definitive Edition Just Changed Phil Cassidy Forever

With the release of "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition" right around the corner, many fans of the storied and controversial open-world franchise are anxious to see what changes Rockstar Games makes to the old trilogy to adapt it to more contemporary standards. Several much-needed improvements have already been announced, ranging from enhanced lighting to less-dated control schemes reminiscent of "Grand Theft Auto 5." Character models have also received a facelift, with Rockstar using the Unreal Engine to give characters a more modern look, while retaining "Grand Theft Auto's" signature aesthetic from that time period. But one prominent character seems to have been given a slight update, and people have begun to notice.

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy on Switch apparently requires digital download

Listings for physical copies of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch are starting to receive box art, and it reveals that a digital download is apparently still required to access the full GTA experience. It is not yet clear how much of the game requires a download. It could be the case that one title like Grand Theft Auto III is included on a cart, while the other two titles must be downloaded. At the least, this doesn’t seem to be a Wolfenstein: Youngblood situation where there is no game card included at all.
