SLASH To Release New Single 'The River Is Rising' On Friday

"The River Is Rising", the new single from SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS, will be released on October 22. A 33-second teaser video can be seen below. In the clip, guitarist Slash states: "This was the first time that we actually did all the guitars, bass and drums live at the same time, and kept all those tracks. And we also did the vocals live as well. So, the record just sounds like the band playing the songs that we came in with, but it's us playing in the moment. And that's what we were going for." Vocalist Myles Kennedy adds: "This one's pretty much a live record, from my standpoint. You're just trying to kind of document where you are at that point in life, and do it in an authentic way."

This muscular exercise in back to basics hard rock represented a welcome return to form for vocalist Ian Astbury, guitarist Billy Duffy and their recently recruited cohorts and ranked as the finest Cult album in many a long year when it first saw the light of day in 2007. “Dirty Little Rockstar” and “Diamonds” capture the essence of this riff laden gem.

Joey Jordison remembered: in his own words and by those who knew him best

Joey Jordison liked to tell people that his very first memory found him alone, locked up, in darkness. “I don’t know if I had conscious thoughts while I was in the womb, but I was in a black cell,” he recalled. “Looking up in the corner, I could see a tiny square window, letting in a little bit of light. That was it.”

Trivium Release Tenth Album “In The Court Of The Dragon” Today

TRIVIUM RELEASE TENTH ALBUM IN THE COURT OF THE DRAGON TODAY, OCTOBER 8 VIA ROADRUNNER RECORDS. Grammy-nominated band TRIVIUM — Matt Heafy [vocals, guitar], Corey Beaulieu [guitar], Paolo Gregoletto [bass], and Alex Bent [drums] — proudly release their tenth album, In The Court Of The Dragon, today, October 8, via longtime label Roadrunner Records. The record was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur and recorded in the Fall of 2020 at Full Sail University in Orlando.

Trivium’s Matt Heafy: My life in 10 songs

1. Trivium – My Hatred (Ember To Inferno, 2003) An intense battle anthem of emotional turmoil, this song captures the essence of Trivium’s earliest days. “This is the oldest song on the record. I remember my history teacher saying to me in middle-school, when we were supposed to turn in the setlist for Battle Of The Bands, ‘Do you think they’re going to be okay with you playing a song called My Hatred? In this climate?’ But it’s always this climate. Anyway, I joined Trivium at 13 through a tryout song: For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica. Our original singer wanted Trivium to be an industrial band like Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Rammstein, but we wanted to be a metal band. So he said, ‘Let’s split the songs in half, you guys keep the band name,’ and he left. This song was the first time I was able to really flex my muscle of who I am as a songwriter.”
