DOUGLAS — Longtime Douglas resident and rancher Warner Glenn is featured in this month’s national magazine of Western Horseman. The article, written by Kate Bradley Byars, is titled “Life on the Rim.” It talks about the 85-year-old cattle rancher and how he can still track a mountain lion along some of the most rugged canyon rims in southern Arizona.

Cincinnati Reds’ Asdrúbal Cabrera sells Southwest Ranches mansion for record price

Major League Baseball player Asdrúbal Cabrera sold his Southwest Ranches mansion for $7.4 million. Records show the Cincinnati Reds third baseman sold the house at 1700 Stratford Court to a Delaware-registered entity. Cabrera and his wife Lismar Del Valle Barrios bought the 2.6-acre property in 2016 for $1 million. The two-story, modern home was built last year.

The Alisal Fire that took off in Southern California this week continues to dominate the region. Raging through the coastal mountains it threatens ranches and rural homes as the fire scarred state faced a new round of dry winds that raise the risk of infernos. The Alisal Fire covers more than 24 square miles and the number of firefighters was nearly doubled to 1,300 with more on the way.

RIVERSIDE – The Colville Confederated Tribes have acquired a Tunk Valley ranch with the financial help of Seattle-based Conservation Northwest. Conservation Northwest closed on the 9,243-acre property Oct. 7, said an announcement from the group.
